Context

Poweend is developing Eole5, a 1 MW wind turbine designed to provide French businesses with local, competitive, low-carbon electricity.
To achieve this goal and reinforce industrial sovereignty, Poweend has made the strategic decision to relocate blade manufacturing to France. The expertise required for this process is currently maintained outside Europe. We were selected to design and build the new-generation blade mould, a key element in the project’s industrial performance.

Solutions

New-generation tooling design

We designed a large-scale mould that meets the most demanding requirements in terms of accuracy, robustness and industrial repeatability. This development required the combined use of an innovative heating system and a complex turning device – an unprecedented configuration on this scale.

Technical and industrial expertise

By mobilizing our engineering, large-scale mechanized welding, machining and composite teams, we were able to produce a complete, production-ready tool. Each step was designed to guarantee dimensional stability, durability and high-speed performance.

Energy performance

By optimizing processes and heating systems, we were able to cut energy consumption for parts manufacturing by a factor of five, strengthening the project’s environmental credentials.

Production support

We supported Poweend’s teams during the first production runs, to ensure quality from the very first trial and to prepare for ramp-up.
