Creation of a sail prototype with CWS
to validate its industrial choices
CWS – Computed Wing Sails is an innovative start-up developing a patented solution for rigid, automated, folding wing sails, able to reduce fuel consumption by up to 50%.
Before starting production, CWS wanted to produce a full wing prototype, combining various parts, to confirm its industrial choices and achieve productivity targets.
We were chosen to design the moulds, manufacture and assemble the wing’s major composite parts, and prepare for future industrialization.

Mould Design and Manufacture
Based on the detailed design of the wing, we developed moulds and production systems adapted to the large dimensions and technical constraints (mass, accuracy, repeatability).
Materials Testing and Optimization
We performed validation tests on various materials and defined production protocols to meet the industrial and technical objectives.
Prototype Assembly
We hosted and assembled all the prototype parts in our workshop, mobilizing our very large handling systems and our expertise in metrology, to guarantee complete conformity before going into production.
