Industrial-scale production of XXL composite masts
Chantiers de l’Atlantique developed the SolidSail propulsion system to accelerate decarbonization in shipping. In order to industrialize the manufacture of very large composite masts (up to 65 meters), they entrusted us with the design and building of the production tools required for mass production.

Industrial design and engineering
We designed the moulds and mast assembly systems in close collaboration with all our partners; SolidSail Mast Factory, Avel Robotics, CDK Technologies, Lorima and Multiplast.
This team effort meant we were able to take account all constraints of size, accuracy and assembly in an automated environment.
Mastering the value chain
By mobilizing our engineering and production teams (boiler-making, machining, composites), we designed and built tools to produce on an industrial scale (tube and sleeve moulds, assembly system, machining support, etc.).
Industrial support
To help CDA get their plant into production, we assembled and machined the first 5 masts.
